The National Maritime Museum has said it is a "great honour" to be involved with the G7 summit.

Over the weekend, it was revealed Falmouth is set to play its part in the upcoming summit as Cornwall will host the international event in June.

The major three-day international event will see leaders from the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US, as well as invited leaders from Australia, India, and South Korea.

The event will host world leaders at Carbis Bay on June 11th to 13th, with neighbouring St Ives and the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth will welcome international delegates and media.

Speaking on the news, National Maritime Museum Director, Richard Doughty said:

"It is a great honour to have been selected to help represent Cornwall, and indeed the United Kingdom, at this year's G7 Leader's Summit.

"We are thrilled to be a part of it and look forward to sharing our wonderful Museum with media representatives from the G7 nations, and beyond."
