Body found in search for missing diver in Falmouth, police confirm

The body of a diver who went missing recently off Falmouth recently has been found.

A major operation got underway on the 17th of June after a diver failed to resurface.

Falmouth RNLI, the coastguard, and the navy were all involved in the search.

In an update provided by police, the man has been found dead, the family has been informed.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added:

"The body of a diver who failed to resurface following a dive in the sea off Falmouth has been recovered and brought to shore.

"The family of the 39-year-old man, from Staffordshire, have been informed, but formal identification is yet to take place.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
