Police hunt masked thief after knifepoint robbery at Castle Beach Cafe

A popular local cafe will be closed today following a robbery at Castle Beach.

Police received a call from Castle Beach Cafe this morning at around 8am to a report that an armed man demanded money from the cash register.

A woman was threatened with a knife, police remain on the scene and enquiries continue into the theft.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, 5ft 10, wearing a black hooded top, black face mask and blue jeans.

Anyone in the area who witnessed the incident, or has any information which could assist in the investigation is asked to contact them on 101 or via email at [email protected], quoting crime ref CR/053632/21.

Owner Fiona Crump announced the cafe will be closed for the remainder of the day.
