The Pendennis Leisure Group is still working hard to try to open up the former Ships and Castles swimming pool as a community space.

This is all part of a short-term plan while they try to seek funding to reach their long-term goal of a swimming and leisure facility that the whole town can use.

The group is always looking for volunteers and has previously shared How you can get involved. To get the whole community involved they have previously held events such as the big tidy-up and now will be organising a volunteer gardening group which will start tomorrow (Friday 19th May) at 10:00 am.

When sharing the news, Pendennis Leisure said: "We are all so lucky to have such a wonderful outdoor area up at the site and so many people have offered their gardening help & services to give the space some much-needed love and attention.

"We are delighted to have input and advice from Jack from Grow Cornwall who will be up at the site this Friday to start establishing our volunteer gardening group.

"You don't particularly need any specific skills but if you fancy popping up to lend a hand or get outside whilst meeting others, then please do pop along.

"This will be the first of many meetings, so if you can't make this one then keep an eye out for the next"

Next week, on Tuesday the 23rd of May, Pendennis Leisure will also be holding the third community meeting to discuss the progress and future plans. You can read about the previous meeting here: Second community meeting for Pendennis Headland.

If you have any questions about the gardening group or the meeting, you can contact the group on social media: Pendennis Leisure.
