Unfortunately, we didn't get any snow this year but a look back at 1984 shows how the snow affected the town.

The photos were shared by Keith Bryant, a Mabe resident, when he lived at Homestead on Church Road.

"A few shots of how we were affected," Keith said.

He continued:

"As there was some wind, Treliever Road was blocked for a while, until our local farmers cleared access.

"A few days later the Council came to clear the rest of the area. Richard Clayton came to the rescue of those who could not reach the shop."

Residents also shared their memories of that time, with one adding:

"Dad (Richard Clayton) made us a sledge by drilling two holes in Mum's wooden surfboard and fixing in a rope handle. Lost count how many times Mark and I sledged down Antron Hill."

"I remember sliding down Antron hill on a plastic sack as no sledge available. Must have looked very undignified but didn't care as it was fun," another said.

And a third added:

"I remember '84, remember us all having to dig the car off the drive at Yarlington and out to the main road to get up to nanny's at Rame Cross where she was stranded. Couldn't get all the way to Rame so had to walk through the snow."

What are your memories of the snow in 1984?
