South Africa wine tasting

For our penultimate wine tasting before we take a break from classes during the busy summer months, we'll visit the wonderful wine country which is – South Africa.

Now definitely one of the top destinations in the world for quality wine as well as affordable bottles (and bag in box), South Africa has recovered from its apartheid-era isolation and has dozens of top quality winemakers and viticulturists. However, climate change is proving a particular problem for vines and grapes in the country – with a lack of water, drought and ongoing issues around electricity supplies as well as distribution of winery ownership in the country's black communities.

As well as tasting six quality wines, we'll be serving some braai (South African BBQ) plus some biltong and other South African staples to go alongside the wines.
