Penryn College's Year 8 Rugby players have been crowned U13 County Cup champions following their first-place finish in a tournament consisting of 25 Cornish schools.
The competition - which took place earlier this month - was hosted by St Austell-based school, Penrice Academy, and saw Penryn defeat all eight of their opponents across two group stages to lift the tournament trophy.
A top-of-the-table finish in the opening group saw the team qualify into a second pool stage with schools that had achieved a similar feat in their respective opening groups.
And Penryn continued that fine form into the latter stages of the competition, defeating each of their opponents to complete the tournament with a 100% winning record.
Reflecting on the players' achievements, Penryn College Director of Lifestyle and Community, Mr Tucker, said: "The success was built on the players keeping calm under pressure and a big squad effort. A big well done to everyone."
