Tom Lawton, founder of Uplifting Products is set to donate £1,000 for Penryn based charity, Sea Sanctuary - a unique mental health and wellbeing charity rooted in the concept of 'blue health'.

Every year, World Mental Health Day takes place on 10th October, where a different theme is celebrated.

This year, given the ongoing impact of the pandemic, the theme is 'Mental Health for All'.

Joe Sabien, CEO & Founder of Sea Sanctuary said:

"Thank you, Tom for your recent generous donation of £1000 to Sea Sanctuary. Your willingness to support our charity is particularly kind, in the current pandemic and is very much appreciated by the entire Seas Sanctuary team.

"The monies gifted are forming the basis of The Uplift Bursary which will fund a four-day residential Sail into Life Programme, for four client sailors.

"Our Sail into Life programme is rooted in 'blue health', the concept which draws on the beneficial effects that access to 'blue spaces', such as the sea is beneficial for our mental health. By combining evidence-based therapies with marine-based activities we provide an invigorating sense of adventure along with the help and support people require to build and sustain emotional resilience and an improved level of wellbeing.

"It has proven to be a unique recipe for success that has helped hundreds of people improve their health. The Uplift Bursary will enable us to support more vulnerable people who greatly need our help. Thank you."

Uplift 2.0 is the latest creation from British inventor, TV personality and co-founder of Uplifting Products, Tom Lawton.

Designed to address the increasingly prevalent topic of our mental wellbeing, Uplift 2.0 will help you to relax and unwind; it's hypnotic motion can benefit those feeling stressed, anxious or simply

tired, to find a meditative moment of calm in everyday life.

Tom Lawton has pledged to donate £10 from every sale of Uplift 2.0 made on beuplifted.co.uk to Sea Sanctuary, who provide mental health programmes which rely on the environment and use techniques thought to be the first of their kind in the world.

They use a combination of sail training, marine activities and evidence-based therapies to help children and adults who are struggling with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and a whole range of mental and emotional health problems.

So far, Tom Lawton has raised £1,000 for the charity since May 2020, with funds going into 'The Uplift Bursary'.

Tom Lawton added:

"Joe and the team at Sea Sanctuary provide invaluable support to vulnerable people via their unique concept of 'blue health'. What they do is truly remarkable and we're proud to be able to donate £1,000 to them on World Mental Health Day."
