Mylor Community Garden picked up prizes at the recent HortAid-20 Gardening Competition - chosen by an array of judges including Alan Titchmarsh and Rachel De Thame.
The horticultural charity Perennial, which provides support for people working in the gardening sector, ran a competition during lockdown where people were invited to take photographs of their gardening endeavours during that time.
All the category winners received a £25 Suttons voucher.
St Mylor Church revealed the news, saying:
"Julie (Munro) entered a photograph of the site itself in the Community Garden section and also one of an array of produce in the Best Vegetable section and we won in each category.
"The judging panel included Alan Titchmarsh and Rachel De Thame so we feel very honoured. As a prize, we will be given a Suttons voucher and so can think about selecting even more seeds for next season.
"We will continue to have cropping sessions complying with the COVID restrictions for as long as the weather permits - and the restrictions themselves remain the same. All Saints, Bell's Hill Saturdays 10-12. At other times please feel free to come along and pick whatever you require."
Support poured in from residents, one comment read:
"We all knew it was a winner but so glad the Community Garden and the team's hard work have been recognised and rewarded by Perennial."
A second resident said:
"Congratulations to all who work so hard, amazing."
