Heavy rain overnight was pictured in Falmouth flooding drains and causing disruption through the town.

The Met Office had issued a yellow alert for heavy rain as showers swept across Cornwall, that was expected to cause flooding to homes and businesses, and spray and flooding on roads.

Shared to Nub News by local taxi driver Mark Averiss, the video and pictures show water rising through the drains and covering the streets through the centre of town.

Falmouth Health Centre was also affected experiencing "major flooding" as a cleanup operation got underway this morning.
