Falmouth Rugby Football Club is holding its annual volunteer weekend on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th June at the Recreation Ground from 10 am - 6 pm.

One of the main aims is to complete taking down one of the county's tallest and oldest rugby posts (originally made at the Falmouth Docks) for a repaint and repair, along with general maintenance, painting, deep clean, and organising of some of the facilities ahead of the new season.

The Club is calling on past and current members along with any willing volunteers from the community to join the task force. "The more volunteers the more we can achieve together," said Mick Stevens Facilities Manager.

There are lots of ways you can get involved with the club even if you can't make the volunteering weekend, the club has lots of teams and is always looking for people to join them.

Next season's opponents have been published with the Eagles 1XV remaining in Counties 1 Tribute Western West League taking on; Bideford, Bude, Kingsbridge, Paignton, The Old Foe "Penryn", Pirate Amateurs, Plymstock Albion Oaks, St. Ives, Tavistock, Tiverton, and Wiveliscombe.

While the Eagles 2XV (The One & All) have seen promotion to Counties 3 Tribute Cornwall League taking on; Bude II, Camborne II, Hayle, Lankelly-Fowey, Launceston II, Redruth Albany, Roseland, Saltash, St. Agnes, St. Austell III, and Wadebridge Camels II.

Falmouth Eagles are still taking applications for a "senior player-coach" for the upcoming 2023/24 season in Counties 1 Tribute Western West and possibly beyond.

This position is to help provide leadership on the field during matchdays and to assist the other club coaches on Tuesdays and Thursdays at training sessions. This may be negotiable for the right candidate.

"Being one of the oldest clubs in Cornwall, there is a lot of pride in being able to represent Falmouth Rugby Football Club" - anybody who feels this would be of interest to them should contact Tom Spiller on 07792128039 or via email on [email protected]

Summer Social Touch Rugby a non-contact form of the sport continues on Mondays at the Recreation Ground from 7 pm for all abilities, male and female aged 14+. Just bring along some water and meet at 6:40 pm to see what the "Spirit of Falmouth" is all about.
