Pink Wig party returns to Falmouth Week
After an enforced two-year absence due to the pandemic, this year's Pink Wig party is once again the first night of Falmouth Week, taking place on Friday, August 5th.
Pink Wig Ladies night is now an integral part of the Falmouth Week calendar.
The team said they are delighted to celebrate their 10th-anniversary event by going back to their roots by returning to the Greenbank for the pre-parade party. Sue Morant, publicity officer, said: "We were thrilled to have been approached by the Greenbank who wanted to get us back on board and support Pink Wig with various donations from their bars, food stalls and even pink doughnuts.
"Pink Wig night is a celebration of ladies supporting each other, having fun and most importantly raising money for our two chosen charities, Cornwall Breast Care Team and Breast Cancer Now, the more that local businesses support us, the more money we raise, benefitting our charities, leading hopefully to the eradication of this dreadful disease."
The pre-parade party will take place at the marquee on Greenbank Quay and for the first time, is open to everyone, partners, husbands, parents and children. A generous percentage of all drinks, food and doughnuts will be donated to Pink Wig.
The parade of up to 1500 pink wig-wearing ladies led by Falmouth Marine Band will leave the Greenbank Hotel at 6:30pm to parade to The Moor, then through town to The Marquee on Church Street car park ready for a night of fun and entertainment.
Over 1300 tickets for this year's event have already been sold, tickets are available from the Pink Wig website or from Bow in Falmouth, Tava at Boslowick and Sasha Would've Loved It charity shop in Penryn.
