Cornwall RLFC welcomed guests from Veor RFC to Saturday's Betfred League 1 match against Swinton Lions.

The local rugby union club are hosting a family fun day on Sunday, July 31st to raise funds for local charity Finnsarmy.

The Choughs have donated a playing shirt signed by our 2022 squad as a raffle prize for the event.

Finnsarmy was formed in 2014 and aims to help improve the lives of children and children that may have life-limiting conditions in Cornwall.

The charity operates an iPad lending service across the Duchy which allows children to use the equipment – the brainchild of Nat Mitchell.

Her son Finn was diagnosed with a brain tumour in December 2013 and was rushed into hospital for an emergency operation.

He spent Christmas in hospital and his initial days in post-recovery saw Finn unable to walk. He also struggled to communicate but when gifted an iPad, he spoke and laughed for the first time since his operation.

Seeing the difference the iPad made, Nat and the rest of Finn's family set up the charity to ensure the facility of using an electronic device would be available for other children in a similar situation.

Along with the signed Cornwall shirt, there are also other rugby-related prizes up for grab and they include an Exeter Chiefs and Ospreys rugby union shirt.

The fundraising day will take place at the Holmans Sports Club, home of Veor, with the fun starting off at 10am.
