Raze the Roof the children's indoor soft play centre in Penryn is offering their venue completely free to those organising charity and fundraising events.

Steve Smith who runs the centre is always looking for ways to support local charities and has done many events over the past 16 years, back in October he created a scare asylum and teamed up with The Sparkle Foundation to donate 10p of every pound raised.

Steve shared how he feels that people will be looking for help more than ever, he said: " In this current climate everyone is looking for support so I guess this kind of thing is more prevalent than usual. We introduced half-price play sessions only yesterday and the response has been remarkable in the sense that we have created very similar offers over the years which have never had this response within hours."

The centre offers all kinds of activities and events but if you're interested in hiring the venue out for free to raise money for charity then here is how it works:

You book a Tuesday evening slot with Raze the Roof and the venue will be yours from 6.00 pm until 8 pm. You then advertise that you are holding your own fundraising event at Raze the Roof, and sell tickets to your friends/family/school etc. The team will provide advice on capacity and what to charge.

Raze the Rood can also provide a buffet if you would like or you can make it a coffee and cake event – the choice is yours but the team will help you out at the planning stage.

Both adults and children can take part either as a timed exercise challenge to see which child (or adult!) has burnt off the most calories or a timed obstacle course through the mega play frame.

Steve said: " It is a great opportunity for groups of friends or families to get together, have a bit of fun, and introduce the youngsters to the idea of helping others in the process."

The team is also happy to help with other suggestions like quiz-mastering, prizes, judging, holding a raffle, money-raising games, and any other options.

Email your proposed event and date to [email protected] they will confirm availability, Raze the Roof looks to support charities based in Cornwall raising funds for a specific reason.

If you aren't raising money but are looking for a fun day out with the family then Raze the Roof also has you covered, they offer laser tag, VR games, a mega play frame, and some great party deals.
