A man was sentenced to 20 weeks in jail today after driving disqualified without passing his test.
The driver was caught on two separate occasions before being charged, being stopped and interviewed three days ago having been disqualified and never passing a test.
Yesterday (1st), he was caught again in the same vehicle, taking it off an insured and licenced driver.
A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police - No Excuse Team said:
"Three days ago we stopped a Vauxhall Vectra being driven on the A30 near Innis Downs. The driver was known to us as a previous Op Dragoon target and is currently disqualified having never passed a test. He was interviewed at the roadside and reported for the offence. The Vectra was seized.
"Yesterday the Vectra was released to a licensed and insured driver. We received a call shortly after to say that it was suspected that the disqualified driver had changed places with the person who recovered it and driven off.
"Today the team along with Roads Policing Officers located the vehicle driving in Falmouth. It was our disqualified driver again. This time he was arrested and charged with today's and the previous offences."
The man was remanded in custody and appeared by Video Link in front of the court this afternoon.
He appeared to Exeter Magistrates who jailed him for 20 weeks, he was handed a further disqualification and the vehicle was ordered to be forfeited.
