Between the 24th of April and the 25th of May the Falmouth Mcdonalds branch was closed for a 'Convenience of the Future' restaurant revamp.

When we shared the story of the reopening the comments section was filled with people saying this will see the return of traffic issues with queues forming from the drive-through.

Local councillor and parliamentary candidate Jayne Kirkham posted a comment with over 30 likes, she said: "It would have been helpful if they'd reconfigured their drive-through so it doesn't block the main route into Falmouth at busy times. I tried and tried to get that agreed but Planning said McDonald's weren't obliged to and so they haven't. Frustrating when there were works going on anyway."

Many other Falmouth residents also shared their thoughts, one comment said: "In summer the queues go far back into Penryn, it causes loads of congestion. It's bonkers. It's a stupid location for it basically."

Another comment said: "That will be the road choked up again then when it reopens. Haven't had any problems driving past there since it's been shut. The traffic has been flowing freely."

After the number of comments complaining about traffic issues, Nub News contacted Mcdonald's for a response and we were told it would be looked into, however, we are yet to receive a statement.
