Armed Forces Day will be held in Falmouth on Saturday the 24th of June and there are activities and celebrations planned across the whole weekend.
Many people will be looking forward to the national event and will travel from all over the country to celebrate and support all those in the armed forces community, from serving troops to veterans, and cadets.
However, not everyone is happy that Falmouth has been selected as a host and several events have been planned in response.
A social media page named 'Peace.Cornwall' that says they are encouraging a peaceful response to National Armed Forces Day, has shared a schedule online.
The first event, which will take place tomorrow (Thursday 22nd June) is a War School: Film Extracts & Discussion at The Poly. On the page for the event, the organisers say: "Despite the many costly crises in our society, increases in military spending continue along with the sale of arms abroad, wars prevail.
"Armed Forces Day offers a clear opportunity to shine a light on the normalisation of militarisation and society's willingness for this to go unquestioned."

On Friday there will be a peace vigil held on The Moor from 10:30 - 11:00 am. There will also be a peace hub in the Cornish Bank throughout the whole day.
The Saturday will also see a peace vigil on The Moor at the same time, then a peace parade will follow the military parade from The Recreation Ground to Events Square from 11:00 - 11:30 am. There will also be a peace hub and peace stall at the Cornish Bank throughout the day.
