Earlier this month we shared the saw news that Sophie Cook from Falmouth had sadly lost her life, a JustGiving page was created to help her 3yr old boy. Donations flood in from the community to help a young boy.

When we first posted the story the original target set had already been beaten as donations reached £13,000, as of today (27th March) the amount raised is now at £25,506 with over 1000 supported donating to the cause.

As more and more of the community heard the story through social media, those that know Sophie and those that wanted to help discussed potential plans for a fundraiser.

Originally it looked like the Football Club would host the event, an organiser said: "Just had a message to ring Falmouth football club so they could tell me that after all the hard work we've done that they can't hold Sophie's fundraiser there after all." However, it was claimed that this was due to the number of people wanting to attend.

The fundraiser will now be held at the Princess Pavilion on the 28th of April, tickets will be available to buy soon.
