Cornwall Council has issued information on this year's Christmas tree collections for Falmouth and Penryn residents.

As long as they are real trees the council will collect them for you in January.

Just put your tree out on your normal rubbish collection day between Monday 10th January and Friday 14th January 2022. Trees up to 6ft tall will be collected for shredding and composting. If it is larger than 6ft, cut it into two parts.

Alternatively, if you subscribe to the Garden Waste Collection service, you can put your real Christmas tree out on your normal garden waste collection day for shredding and composting. The council will collect trees up to 6ft tall. If it is larger than 6ft, cut it into two parts.

If you do not subscribe to garden waste collections you can take your tree to the nearest Household Waste and Recycling Centre. Remove it from the pot and take off any decorations.

Christmas Trees will be collected by a different vehicle from your rubbish so they won't both be taken at exactly the same time on your collection day.

On 3rd January 2022 waste will be collected on the usual day, although collection times may vary.
