Falmouth Town Council announces the services remaining open during lockdown.

Falmouth Town Council has announced the services that will be remaining open and what is closing following the announcement of a second lockdown.

Yesterday evening, Prime Minister Boris Johnson set out 'further steps' - after existing tiers currently in place have failed to prevent the spread of coronavirus that has been driven by a new variant.

The lockdown comes into immediate effect and will be made law on Wednesday.

Falmouth Town Council said this afternoon that it will close its community buildings and its offices from tomorrow (5th January) until further notice. This will include the Falmouth Information Service and Falmouth Art Gallery.

What's staying open?

  • Parks, gardens and play areas will remain open at the current operating times, this will be reviewed in line with user behaviour.
  • Please observe social distancing requirements. There will be no bookings for organised sports or events.
  • Public toilets will remain open with an increased disinfectant regime. Again this will be reviewed against user behaviour. Please observe social distancing requirements.
  • Falmouth Cemetery will remain open for burials, but be aware that restrictions will apply regarding attendance.
