A woman was left shaken up yesterday after being followed home from a routine dog walk.

Yesterday (4th January) Anne believes she was followed by two young men in a transit van from Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth to the Gig Lane/Point Road crossroads in Carnon Downs.

Anne said the incident had her worried as she thinks they saw her walking and were trying to find out where she lived.

Theft numbers are believed to be at an all-time high as demand for dogs skyrocketed during lockdown.

In a warning to others, Anne said:

"I indicated to turn into Point Road which was the opposite way I wanted to go.

"They immediately indicated to turn the same way but I turned left instead. They turned right but stopped the van. I quickly drove to Carnon Inn car park and stayed there for a while.

"I eventually headed home after no sign of the van, I was convinced they were dog thieves it was too much of a coincidence they just happened to be behind me all the way from Gyllyngvase Beach."

Anne was unable to get the number plate but wants to make people aware of this to keep their dogs safe.
