Next Saturday night (21st March) Falmouth will see over 250 men and women walking through the town taking part in Children's Hospice South West's (CHSW) annual Moonlight Memory Walk.
The walk gives people the opportunity to remember their loved ones and walk-in celebration of their lives. The event is open to men and women 12 years and over to take part.
This will be the 11th Moonlight Memory Walk which Falmouth has hosted and last year the event raised over £20,000 for CHSW. The charity provides a range of services to children living with life-limiting illnesses including vital respite stays at it's Little Harbour children's hospice for the whole family.
The walk will start and end on the Moor and will take a 5-mile route around the town through the high street, out to Pendennis Point and along Gyllynvase Beach.
Kiley Pearce, Events Fundraiser for CHSW explains the significance of the event:
"The Moonlight Memory Walk has two very special elements; the event itself gives people the opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones while the sponsorship raised by those taking part will support the local children and families visiting Little Harbour for respite breaks or end of life care."
For those unable to make it on the evening there is also the opportunity to get involved virtually by walking in your own time and joining the memory ceremony via Facebook Live on the evening.
To sign up for the Moonlight Memory Walk simply click here registration costs just £12 and is open to anyone over the age of 12.
Your registration fee includes a t-shirt, memory bag to decorate, pasty and hot drink on the evening and a fully marshalled route. Any sponsorship raised will then go towards the care offered at Little Harbour.
