A Falmouth student vet nurse has been nominated for an award from the British Veterinary Nursing Association.
The award is for her efforts during lockdown as she helped rehabilitate over 70 animals.
Chloe-Mai Burrows is now one of three finalists in the country, she told Nub News:
"It was such a shock, I was at college all day Friday so missed the calls so all I knew from the voicemail was that the BVNA was trying to get hold of me which was worrying.
"I spoke to them on Monday and they told me I was nominated for the award and that I was in the final 3 finalists. The awards evening is on Saturday online.
"I definitely don't do what I do for the attention and just love doing it for the animals but to be recognised is an amazing feeling. It was difficult during lockdown as I was self-funding everything and still trying to get everything set up properly and it's been a roller-coaster of emotions as not all the animals make it but is so worth it for the ones that do.
"Even though I'm back at work full time I'm still taking in birds and been bringing some to work with me each day that need the regular feeds so it's only going to get busier."
