Falmouth Rugby Club is holding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Monday 20th Feb from 18:00 at the Falmouth Rugby Clubhouse and has made it an open invitation to the whole community.

The meeting will not just be getting the voice of the players heard but also focusing on general and cultural issues around the club, looking for creative thinking to shape the next 150 years.

The rugby club shared a message on social media hoping they could find some extra help from the community, Falmouth Rugby said:

"You may have noticed the world is changing and presents a lot more challenges such as issues in the global game and increasing costs. The things that make us all happy, like rugby, music, or theatre are becoming more important and they all rely on the passion of a few volunteers.

"Running our club is getting difficult for the amazing volunteers, parents, players, and supporters that are currently involved even though we have people of real talent, charisma, and energy.

"We're asking all to be aware of the work that goes into the club we're proud to call our own and send out a plea for some extra help. You could be part of a group changing the culture of the game and the club off and on the field at the heart of the community.

"We all need to have a place to be happy when days are tough, so, on behalf of Falmouth Rugby and the next generation of boys, girls, women, and men, we ask you to take some time to come to our club meeting, for one & all."

Back in December, the club celebrated 150 years with their Falmouth Rugby Family Reunion. The club acknowledges that it would not be what it is today without the help of its community but were hopeful that there are more people out there to help take them forward.
