Coronavirus: Falmouth doctor and daughter test positive

By The Editor 16th Sep 2021

A Falmouth doctor has taken to social media to tell how she and her young daughter have been struck down by coronavirus.

Aida Lopez, who has been working on the front line at Falmouth Hospital during the pandemic, wrote on social media:

"I've tested positive.

"I infected my dear daughter too. We are now quarantined, coping okay and are very grateful for all the offers of help and positive messages.

"Of course, I'm a front line NHS worker and I knew it was going to happen and, before you ask, yes I did use PPE.

"People need to listen, even if the government doesn't, lots of healthy young people are currently dying with names and faces, and this is just the beginning.

"We emergency workers are risking our lives and our families.

"Separating from our loved ones to try to keep them safe and working extra hard but we can't do this alone."

Aida is urging people to follow government guidelines:

"Stay in, minimise any exposure and help us contain it so we can manage it as safely as we can."
