Accident between car and tractor leaves a man with life-changing injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Falmouth that has left a man with 'life-changing' injuries.

Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"At approximately 10:28am on Saturday (4th), Devon and Cornwall Police received a call from members of the public stating that there had been a Road Traffic Collision on Penwarne Road near Mawnan Smith, Falmouth.

"The collision involved a car and a tractor towing a trailer. South Western Ambulance Service Trust resources attended the scene along with staff from Cornwall Fire and Rescue.

"As a result of the collision, a 46-year-old male received upper-body injuries, thought to be potentially life-changing.

"Local Police Officers, Operations department Officers and Specialist officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full examination of the scene.

"Police are requesting that any witnesses with any information and or dash camera footage are to please come forward."

Cornwall Fire & Rescue added:

"Two fire appliances from Falmouth and a rescue tender from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station were mobilised along with two Officers.

"On arrival, they found persons trapped in a vehicle. Crews rescued one person using cutting equipment with the assistance of paramedics and the crew from the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service."
