This morning, Falmouth saw a parade and dance through the town involving the town's school-children and the Falmouth Marine Band in celebration of St. Piran.

The children, in their costumes and props, left The Moor at 10.00am, making their way to Prince of Wales Pier, along Killigrew Street and back to The Moor.

Falmouth Mayor, Steve Eva, told Nub News:

"Very proud to be Cornish, St Piran's Day is our day.

"The Marine Band were brilliant, it has been a long time since they have been part of this.

"This is not run by the council, it is run by the schools, it is a nice day."

Following the parade was dancing for all to watch on The Moor.

The parade headed into Wesley Hall for refreshments and to hear the story of St Piran. The event was closed with a performance from Singing Trelawny.
