Both Falmouth RNLI lifeboats were called out as reports came in that members of the public were concerned for the wellbeing of paddleboarders in the Carrick Roads.

Launching at 8.17am, the inshore lifeboat and crew made their way up the river to near Pill Creek where a boarder was reported to be. The all-weather relief lifeboat Volunteer Spirit and crew launched shortly after at 8.50am due to the weather conditions SSW force 8 gusting 9.

The lifeboats located two paddleboarders who were paddling upriver to Truro and made sure that they were well and well prepared for the conditions as they continued their way upriver.

The two lifeboats and crew returned to the station and made the boats ready for service.
