Vietnamese noodle restaurant PhoBar is really special and ideal if you're looking for a unique experience.

Run by Tom and Emma, they used to operate a pop-up takeaway in The Wheelhouse before opening their own restaurant along Quay Street on New Years Eve 2020.

They have been on quite a journey - unveiling their full handcrafted restaurant the following December.

A great setting for a meal.

The pair took on all the work themselves from the painting, signage, tables, and the bar, Tom even handcrafted the tables himself from Cornish Oak. Together they have created a cosy, stylish interior, fitting nicely with the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. A great setting.

Emma was brilliant, provided a warm welcome, and was helpful all evening. Tom has experience from cooking all over the world and is producing really fresh food.

I started with Falmouth Bay Scallops, followed by a 6hr slow-roasted Cornish Pork Belly in a homemade broth, pickled carrot, spring onions, and a sprinkling of chillies. Very tasty. Rounded off a lime and avocado sorbet, something I'd never had before but I'll definitely be having again. A cool way to finish the meal.

Lime and avocado sorbet. Perfect way to round off a meal.

Overall, PhoBar has a chilled-out atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty food, it'll leave you with a smile on your face.
