Emergency services cordoned off part of Killigrew Street in Falmouth following a fire at a pizza takeaway.

The fire service and the police could be seen dealing with an incident at Brothers Pizza around 12am this evening.

On the scene, a fire service spokesperson told Nub News the incident was a "small fire in the pizza restaurant".

In an update, Cornwall Fire and Rescue said:

"A crew wearing breathing apparatus and using one hose reel extinguished the fire and isolated the utilities."

An eyewitness said the fire service arrived and smashed down the doors of the business, followed by the police who shut off the road.
