A Falmouth cafe has announced it will be reopening despite not receiving any government aid and losing hundreds of pounds of stock.

Tragedy struck a few weeks ago for The Four Teas Tea Room and Event Space when owner Lynda and volunteer Angie found their power had been switched off after closing - losing more than £400 of stock in their freezer.

The cafe has been closed since the 21st of March due to government guidelines.

The business will be launching their first service on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th, delivering afternoon tea to celebrate VE Day.

Angie Bayliss-Harrison Mundy told Nub News:

"VE Day is very important to us as I lost my Great Grandfather in WW1 in Arras in France. This was our inspiration for the Tearoom."

The cafe plans to reopen the delivery and takeaway service fully from Thursday 14th with freshly home-cooked, seasonal meals and puddings.

The full menu is set to be released on Sunday, you can find out more on their Facebook page.

The Four Teas Tea Room has not been able to receive government funding, so owner Lynda and volunteer Angie have had to push forward without any financial backing.

"We have received no funding as we fall through all the loopholes of Government aid, so we really had to do something to keep our fledgling business alive. I don't want my mum and dad's legacy to be wasted," Angie told us.

Get in touch with the cafe on the Facebook page, or on 07713 767 599 to order their VE Day special.
