An award-winning theatre company based in Falmouth is set to return after a lengthy break due to the covid pandemic.

Young Generation is aiming for a comeback in 2022 with a production of The Addams Family.

The youth theatre group will be holding their launch night in a few weeks' time and are looking for people to join.

A preview of the show reads:

A comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, the smash-hit musical features an original story and it's every father's nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love! The show follows The Addams Family plus Uncle Fester, Lurch, Pugsley, and more for a heart-warming story of love, family, and friendship… with a twist.

If you're aged between 10 and 20 and fancy getting involved or want to find out more, then simply turn up to Marlborough Primary School, Falmouth at 7pm on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022 for the first pre-audition rehearsal, there is no need to register beforehand.

Four pre-audition rehearsals will be held at the school between 7pm and 9:30pm on Thursday, February 3rd, Thursday, February 10th, Thursday, February 17th, and Thursday, February 24th.

During this time, prospective cast members will learn some songs, choreography, and a little bit of script so that they are all able to audition with the same material. The total cost of all four rehearsals is just £5 per person. Auditions will then be held on Sunday 27th February.

The show will be cast that afternoon and for those who have been successful, rehearsals will begin on Thursday, March 3rd when they will be required to pay subs of £45.

A spokesperson for the theatre company told Nub News:

"In the year that Young Generation turns 40 years old, the team are incredibly excited to announce a move to Falmouth's Princess Pavilion where The Addams Family will be staged from August 2nd – 6th 2022. Ashley Spear will be returning as director, Samantha Taylor as choreographer, and Julia Knight-Bennett as musical director."
