Coronavirus: Through the eyes of a Falmouth photographer

The gravity and enormity of the ongoing situation with Covid19 is very hard for many, if not all of us to grapple with, and come to terms with. On an hourly, and daily basis it is indeed mind-boggling, to say the least.

As a photographer and storyteller, and as a member of the community of people that make up Falmouth. I decided it was in my best interests to take a walk outside with my camera in hand and try to capture what I sensed going on around me.

One of the first things I noticed was the falling away of prejudice and judgement when crossing paths with someone who you may have never met before.

The palpable urge now is for all people the world over, and in every community to reach out towards finding some form of acceptance and understanding in our new shared experience. This is a lot to ask.

However, we can now in our darkest hours find the kind of unbreakable courage and hope that will continue to direct us on the right path to finding a cure for this most terrible disease. Our new and unspoken language is now one of the found friendships, solidarity, collective shock, and grief.

It is my firm belief that we will find great strength and resilience in coming together and with the highest level of humility. As we give thanks for what we have today - and as we wait for much brighter, life-affirming days ahead of us.
