Cornwall Appliances donates £1000 to Falmouth girls youth football teams

Falmouth Community Youth Football Club was presented with a cheque for £1,000 by Matt Charman from Cornwall Appliances / Euronics last week to help provide the girl's teams with vital funding.

Falmouth Community Youth Football Club coaches young people from the ages of 5 years to 16 years, with most of the younger age group teams being mixed the club also has two girls' teams the Jays and the Finches.

The funding has been very gratefully received by the club and will be spent on new goals for the girls, coaches' qualification, a flag banner, and a girls-only tournament in the spring. 

The tournament will include all the girls in the club from age 6 upwards, playing fun games and competitions with prizes to be won.

Present for the handing over of the cheque were Arno Canale; club President, Janine Kennedy: Club Chair, Andrew Jenkin: girls representative for the club, Martin Snell and Jason Squibb: coaches.

Andrew Jenkin, girls representative for the club commented: "The girls' group within the club is growing at a fantastic rate. We are very grateful for the support of Cornwall Appliances/Euronics and excited to be able to use the money to help support and develop the girls' group even further."
