Introducing the brand new sponsors of Falmouth Nub News, Ciuri Ciuri.

Ciuri Ciuri, based on Church Street is owned by partners Mariangela Aiuto and Fabrizio Sabato, they run an authentic Italian handmade gelato shop, also serving proper Italian coffee, homemade marzipan, and cakes.

The gelato is handmade every day in the lab using the finest all-natural Italian ingredients offering a wide variety of different gelato flavours.

There is not another shop that offers true Italian gelato in the local area, something which they say makes them stand out from the crowd.

We are delighted to say to announce that Ciuri Ciuri is becoming a sponsor of Falmouth Nub News.

This will let us keep delivering our local news for free and without overly intrusive ads.

Nub News chief executive Karl Hancock said:

"I'm thrilled to welcome Ciuri Ciuri as our online newspaper's new sponsor.

"Thousands read and engage with Falmouth Nub News every week and Ciuri Ciuri's support and involvement will let us continue providing our vital community news service."

Ciuri Ciuri in their own words

With a family history back in Italy making gelato, Mariangela opened the shop in 2014, meeting Fabrizio a few years later and deciding to run the business together.

Going on to discuss the process of making gelato, the pair told Nub News:

"The gelato is different here because of the fresh milk and cream (all Cornish), we use an Italian recipe with Italian ingredients blended with Cornish, we think we make something really unique. We put together two different cultures and we make something totally new, and that for us is fantastic.

"We are really proud because everyone in Italy makes gelato but this is different, from Bristol to Penzance we are the only authentic Italian gelato shop."

Their passion for gelato is clear for all to see (and taste), but they also share an equal passion for Falmouth, "I love everything about Falmouth," Mariangela said.

She continued:

"Falmouth is so fantastic, even if it is raining it is beautiful, it is a very calm place and the people are friendly. The first thing I saw when I came here was the seaside, I remember it was November when I came and it was still just as fantastic, I decided I wanted to stay for the rest of my life."

Being partners in life and partners in business is never easy, so how do you find that balance?

Fabrizio said:

"We are 24 hours a day together but we find the key, she is the boss from here (pointing to the making a creating of the gelato), and from here (the dining and counter) I will take charge of," total confidence in each other to take control certain sections of the shop.

Mariangela and Fabrizio work around the clock Monday to Sunday providing fresh gelato and with the summer season arriving they are expecting to be busier than ever.

"We work a lot but when you see those kids' faces with their gelato it makes it all worth it, this isn't considered a job for us this is our lives," they added.
