After more than 12 months standing empty, one of Falmouth's prime vacant shops has been transformed into a fantastic new home for Castle Sports & Uniform who have relocated from their former shop in the old High Street.

Business owners Cath Horton and Teresa McCormack have made the most of the latest lockdown and have spent their time completely refurbishing and renovating the former hairdressers at the bottom of Killigrew Street into a bright and modern sports shop.

The building had fallen into a poor state of repair during the time that it had been vacant and was a real eyesore in one of Falmouth's main shopping areas.

However, the owners of Castle Sports could see the potential in the premises.

They decided to take the plunge in a very uncertain economic climate and are hoping that their commitment to the town centre will pay off.

Opening their doors to the public for the first time yesterday morning (12th), Cath said:

"We're really excited to move to such a prominent location in the town centre and it's great to have so much space to display our stock.

"We loved our old shop in the High Street, but we didn't have any space to expand and this new location will allow us to increase the range of sports products that we are able to offer our customers."

The shop stocks a wide range of quality sports brands including Under Armour, Ron Hill, Brooks and Mizuno, and the staff are able to offer advice on fitting and selecting the most suitable sports

shoes and equipment.

Castle Sports also supplies uniform for both Falmouth School and Penryn College, as well as Truro High School and five local primary schools and there is now much better access for parents with pushchairs and those with impaired mobility.

The school uniform service offered in the shop is backed up by an online shop so that customers can buy their school uniform from the comfort of their own home and collect their order in store.

In addition to the products available in the shop, Castle Sports also offers bespoke team wear and workwear service and is able to supply a wide range of printed and embroidered garments to local businesses and sports teams.
