Falmouth Community Fire Station has issued a warning to residents over parking around the town.

The warning comes following an incident on Trevethan Road this morning where a fire engine was forced to turn around.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Community Fire Station said:

"We know sometimes space can be limited but please leave enough room for a Fire Engine to get past.

"Having to slow down or rerouting a journey can add vital minutes to our responding time."

Local bus company OTS also commented, adding:

"This is something we are regrettably very familiar with around Falmouth, and in exactly the same areas (Trevethan Road, Penrose Road & Jubilee Road).

"If we can't get through, then these guys certainly can't either.

"We encourage everyone to please remember that large vehicles providing essential services need access."
