Falmouth Food Coop Kitchen launch crowdfunder to continue to serve the community

By The Editor 16th Sep 2021

For the past 4 weeks, Falmouth Food Coop Kitchen (FFCK) have been batch cooking meals and delivering to people isolating and in need of food within Falmouth and Penryn.

Anyone who subscribes through their food hotline can receive 7 meals a week and so far over 1,500 meals have been distributed.

With their list of subscribers continuing to grow they have set up a Crowdfunder page to gather funds to allow them to continue this brilliant community project which has been running from the kitchen at our local community centre, the Dracaena centre.

Twice a week, teams of volunteers prepare, cook and pack meals to deliver.

A spokesperson from FFCK told Nub News:

"We have been overwhelmed by the response from the community to our food deliveries.

"The support from everyone has been amazing as well as the feedback from those receiving meals.

"The list of those who are benefiting from our meal deliveries grows daily and in order to keep our operation running we have set up a Crowdfunder page.

"This will allow us to continue to purchase ingredients and delivery containers for the meals as well as some much-needed kitchen equipment.

"We hope to deliver meals to people for as long as possible but we will soon reach our capacity without extra support.

"We're so thankful to everyone who has donated to the cause so far and encourage those who can't donate to please share our Crowdfunder details wherever they can."
