A warning has been issued to dog walkers in the local area after oil/diesel was found in the river at Tregoniggie Woods.

The news was shared by a local resident after walking her dog this morning.

Sophie-Louise Lilley posted:

"Do not let your dogs near or in the river until the environmental team have come to investigate the matter.

"I managed to stop several dogs going in whilst I was there earlier on the phone and of course I told everyone I found walking in the woods, but of course not everyone will be aware as of yet."

A sign has been put up in the woods as a temporary measure to warn others.

It has also been reported to the Environmental Agency.
