A fantastic evening of awards over the weekend as Falmouth Cricket Club hosted their annual end-of-season dinner and dance.

Very appreciative to be invited along I got to see first hand the tightness of the club and hear what the covid affected year has been like for everyone involved.

The three-course meal was followed by speeches from the chairman Mark Averiss and this season's first team captain Richard Kellow.

The words on everyone's lips this year were that these are "exciting" times for the club, as a number of youngsters are being brought through into the first and second teams, and a number of awards going to younger players after impressive seasons (Isaac Hurtel-Hymans and Perran Burley).

The first awards of the evening were presented to Mark Averiss, Sandy Richardson, and John Molden, collecting their certificates in the Grassroots Cricket Awards.

The full list of awards are as follows:

1st team batting cup - Scott Kellow.

1st team bowling cup - Richard Kellow.

2nd team batting - Jacob Stephens.

2nd Team bowling - Perran Burley.

3rd team batting cup - Connor Davidson.

3rd team bowling - Isaac Hurtel-Hymans.

4th team batting cup - Jo Davis.

4th team bowling cup - Greg Stephens.

Ladies batting cup - Emma Richardson.

Ladies bowling cup - Jessica Casterton.

Midweek Legends batting cup - Connor Davidson.

Midweek legends bowling cup - Perran Burley.

Young player of the year award - Perran Burley.

The evening was topped off with some music and dancing afterwards.

Well done to all at Falmouth Cricket Club for putting on a brilliant awards night.
