Over the next two and a half years Co-op colleagues are walking, running, cycling, and climbing to raise £5m which will go towards supporting 750,000 young people, helping them get access to basic needs like food, manage their mental well-being, and open up opportunities for the future.
Jo Lewis who works at the Co-op and is the Co-op Member Pioneer for Mullion & Rosudgeon will be trekking the Sahara Desert with several other colleagues while raising money for Barnardo's.
When speaking to Jo she said that she will be pushing herself completely out of her comfort zone and pushing her body to her limits but she believes that all children have the right to a happy and healthy life.
Jo has set a target of raising £2,200, and if you want to donate the JustGiving page is now live: Jo Lewis is fundraising for Barnardo's (justgiving.com)
Although the trek takes place between the 29th of February – the 6th of March 2024 Jo has started her training already and has been sharing her progress while trekking around Helston.
You can follow Jo's progress on a page dedicated to the trek: Jo's Sahara Trek for Barnardos
Don't forget on top of this you can follow the work Jo does as a member pioneer in Helston: Mullion & Rosudgeon Member Pioneer
Co-op membership helps support Co-op's national charity partners and Local Community Fund causes.
