Tribute Western Counties: Falmouth RFC cruise to victory over Wiveliscombe

Falmouth RFC picked up maximum points on Saturday with a commanding 46-12 win over Wiveliscombe.

Ollie Evans and Nick Carne both scored hat tricks as The Eagles recorded their second league win of the season, a victory that lifts the side up to ninth in the table.

After a missed penalty from The Eagles, Wivey took an early lead through Tom Lally. Conversion missed.

Falmouth replied quickly following a good period of pressure Ollie Evans crossed the line. Conversion missed.

An excellent turnover on the Falmouth 22 by Tony Whittle and The Eagles capitalised, Tommy Job kicking ahead for Carne to drop on over the line. Falmouth 10 Wiveliscombe 10.

Falmouth closed the half strongly leading 29-5 with Evans and Carne adding tries in quick succession.

The home side dominated possession and territory in the second half. A sublime airborne pass from Rory Pugh found Ollie Evans to open up a 34-5 point lead.

In the dying moments of the game, Carne intercepted a pass to touch over. Kieran Rodda adding the extras.

A massive 46-12 bonus-point win for Falmouth. Next week The Eagles take on fifth-placed Kingsbridge at The Rec.
