Falmouth RFC suffered a 31-14 defeat to local rivals Penryn RFC in the Tribute Western Counties at The Recreation Ground on Saturday.
Falmouth Head Coach, Graham Whitmore, said: "We always have the boxing day game which generates lots of support but to have these games in the league adds that little bit of spice to it, there was a great crowd out there that thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon.
"We just had moments in the game really where we lost our discipline whether that was through dissent or technical discipline which resulted in a lot of free ball for the opposition, we gave errors away which they transitioned from defence into attack really well.
"Full credit to Penryn, they were a much better side than us on the day both in defence and attack and we found it very hard to break them down.
"I thought we had lots of opportunities ourselves as well, a countless number of penalties in their twenty-two at the end of the first half and in the latter part of the second half.
"We showed a little bit of a lack of accuracy and composure in that zone when it really matters."
The result moves Penryn up to seventh in the table, while The Eagles slip to eleventh.
Falmouth travel away to Saltash in the league next.
