The leader of Cornwall Council has called for urgent action to fix the COVID-19 testing system which he says "isn't working".
Julian German made the comments in his announcements to a meeting of the full council this morning.

It was an exciting day at Falmouth Rugby Club over the weekend as the mayor opened the refurbished changing rooms and the club saw the first competitive action since March.
In coverage filmed by Kevin Bishop, the action saw teams from across first and second teams and colts play a knockout competition of touch rugby, held under the RFU's Ready for Rugby guidelines.

Meeting with local MP Cherilyn Mackrory, the Mayor of Falmouth and local business leaders, the Minister was shown some of the ways in which the tourism industry has adapted to survive and thrive during the pandemic.

Controversial plans to build 121 new homes in Penryn have been granted permission but only on the chairman's casting vote.
A reserved matters planning application for the development on land at College Farm, College Hill, went before Cornwall Council's west sub-area planning committee this morning.
Starting tomorrow on Godolphin Road, traffic control will be in place for repairs, delays possible.
At Hillhead Road, work will continue throughout the week to repair a carriageway, the full length of the road will be affected and there is likely to be delays.
New Falmouth cafe and bistro La Peniche hosted an afternoon of brunch with a one-off 10% discount, Nub News paid a visit to review the food.
Owned by Tony and Kate Elliott-Cannon, the bistro opened at the end of August with much attention as it became the first floating restaurant in Falmouth.

Sir Patrick Vallance, the Chief Scientific Officer, has warned that the UK could see 49,000 daily cases of coronavirus by mid-October if infections continue to rise how they have been.
In a Downing Street briefing today, Mr Vallance showed a graph which showed a prediction of what the virus could look like in the UK next month.
