This week, work got underway to reinstate Maenporth Beach Cafe.

Leann Wright, owner of Life's a Beach cafe with her son James have faced a "long and challenging journey" after a fire destroyed the cafe in May last year.

The cafe posted on social media saying:

"We are filled with excitement for the future, disruption will be kept to a minimum for our customers as we will continue trading throughout from the Shack and Trailer.

"Still open 7 days a week, the only changes to our customers is entry to Car Park, the exit is now opened for cars to enter & exit the beach and car park.

"We want to thank you all in advance for your continued support and hope you will follow the journey to our new cafe."

The news of the rebuild was announced on social media with comments from residents pouring in with support, one resident said:

"Fantastic news. Congratulations on your huge challenge and perseverance- we can't wait."

A second commented:

"Brilliant news, best of luck to you all."

A third added:

"Well done for keeping everything together, onwards and upwards."
