The news that Moth and Moon will be reopening under new management and ownership got the town excited last week.

Matt Reay, manager of The Front, has taken over the former cocktail bar with his wife, Jess Reay, and aims to put a new lease of life into the place, reverting back to a more traditional pub feel.

Work is steaming ahead, which started with brightening up the exterior and interior, removing a lot of the dark green and replacing it with a lighter cream.

Matt told Nub News: "We want to keep some of the previous colour but mix it with something lighter."

The interior and exterior has now blended the two colours together, which Matt says gives the place a more comfortable and welcoming feel.

Work is currently being done on the bar, which has fitted new taps and is working with Skinners and Verdant to bring a variety of beers and ales to the spot.

The bar will house a Verdant, Skinners and Atlantic tap, three rotating guest ales, as well as a wheat beer and session lager and cider.

The upstairs will stay in operation - with some of the lay-out moved around to accompany easier access to charging ports and a range of group seating.

Matt has not specified when the bar will open its doors, but promised that it will be sooner than people think.
