This new feature will inform you of events happening in Falmouth in the upcoming week.

"Here at Speak-Easy@TheKings we want to get Falmouth writing again, so even if you have something that you want to share but haven't quite got the courage just yet, there will be other performers present to deliver the piece.

[February 12] Falmouth Women's Support Meet - Up at De Wynns

"Ladies, we have our first Falmouth support group.

"The group starts at 7pm & all are welcome.

"Please come along & have a cup of tea/coffee & a chat. The groups are completely confidential & very relaxed. If you're not ready to chat just yet, you're more than welcome to take a seat & just listen.

There is no pressure - the aim of the group is to unite women who have Mental Health issues, & provide a safe, non-judgemental and supportive space to talk, listen & share your feelings.

"There is great comfort in spending time with others who are in a similar position to you & it's amazing to see shoulders loosen & women release the burden of keeping their emotions & feelings locked away."

[February 15] February Beach Clean - Love Your Beach!

"Come along to our February Beach Clean to show some love for the environment by cleaning your local beach! What better way to start half term than on the beach?

"At the end of the clean, we'll be creating a heart out of volunteers on the beach to show how much we love it.

"Meet us at Flushing Beach at 2:30 - all litter pickers and buckets will be provided. See you there!"

[February 16] The World of Whales at the National Maritime Museum

11:00-16:00

"Discover the wonderful World of Whales as illustrator Becky Thorns joins us on World Whale Day on Sunday 16 February, 11am – 4pm, to celebrate the launch of her new book.

"MAKE AND TAKE-OVER

This special Make and Take will be taken over by local illustrator Becky Thorns. Take part in a group collage inspired by Becky's new book, The World of Whales.

"We'll be using recycled plastic to create a whale collage of one of Becky's whale illustrations which will be displayed in the Museum. You'll also make a mini whale to take home.

"You're welcome to bring along your own materials including scrap paper and cardboard packaging.

"TRAIL

There's a stream of bubbles loose in the museum, but can you find them all? Complete the trail to claim your prize.

"THE WORLD OF WHALES

The World of Whales is a beautifully illustrated book which explores the habits and characteristics of the giant sea creatures. Pick up your copy in the Museum shop and meet the artist to get your copy signed.

"IT'S FREE!

The World of Whales activities is FREE as part of the Museum's annual admission fee. Pay once and get in free for a year."
