Words from the chairman: Falmouth RFC turning a corner after recent victory
The chairman of Falmouth RFC praised the players and staff after a victory against Chard ended a tough period for the team.
The Eagles had only won twice in the Tribute Western Counties all season before facing Chard on Saturday - but beat the fourth-placed side 31-27 to get back to winning ways.
Chairman John Bullock was understandably delighted with the victory - hoping the Eagles had turned a corner.
He told Nub News that despite a rough patch the team has been competitive in many games and their spirit has always remained.
Tries from Ollie Evans, Nick Carne, Joe Martin, and kicks from captain Tom Spiller secured the five points. A first win since Honiton on October 30th.
John continued:
"No one likes to continually lose, so the win against Chard was really welcome. But more than that; the Eagles have been competitive in many games, especially recently but this was a really good performance against a side-lying fourth in the league.
"Perhaps the Eagles are turning a corner. However, what has always been evident is their spirit, in no small way led by the Club Captain Tom Spiller.
"The new Head Coach, Josh Lord was pleased and smiling as well as was James Instance, the Head of Rugby and all of the Club's loyal supporters. Well done to all the players and the support staff, let's see more."
Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Wadebridge on Saturday, February 5th.
