Jake Heslip, the co-owner of The Windjammer Falmouth, is set to take on a huge charity challenge cycling from Falmouth to Lands End raising money for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal.

The appeal supports Bristol Children's Hospital by funding pioneering, life-saving equipment and research.

The appeal helped Jake's nephew Tate make a full recovery from a Wilms Tumour, cancer of the kidneys which had spread to his lung.

Jake called Tate "absolute trooper" and praised the work of the appeal, he told Nub News:

"The Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal were amazing through Tates journey at Bristol children's hospital.

"That's why I'm trying to raise some money to support this charity.

"I'm not the fittest of athletes so this should be a good challenge, there will be a lot of gruelling up and down Cornish hills and miles."

If all goes to plan Jake and his friend Mark will complete the ride on Saturday 13th March.
