Falmouth residents and visitors are being urged to be cautious on the coast as spray and wave overtopping is expected to carry on throughout today.

The wind and the waves at Castle Beach were particularly strong this morning with overtopping.

Southerly winds could increase to force 8 today.

Flooding is possible over high tides until Tuesday evening. High spring tides may cause flooding of quaysides.

GOV Flood Information Service read:

"People are advised to avoid low lying and exposed coastal areas."

We will update when we have more information.
